A diagram of a surface gathering system, drawn from a table. Wells with wellhead pictures, chokes, a manifold, production and test separators and the outlets they feed (gas to the compressor, oil export, water disposal) are joined by flowline connectors glued to the shapes, so dragging a shape in Excel keeps its lines attached. The Network sheet is the table the drawing was generated from — a row for every piece of equipment and every connector — so the diagram cannot show a link the table does not hold.

A log display for one vertical well. Paste SP, gamma-ray and shallow, medium and deep resistivity onto the Log Data sheet — any sampling interval, depth increasing downward — and the Well Log sheet draws them as tracks against depth: SP as bars either side of a shale baseline, GR as bars coloured by a five-band palette, a lithology column from the same palette, resistivity on a logarithmic scale with decade lines, and a computed shale-volume track from the gamma-ray index. The tracks are charts over a grid of cells that supplies the depth lines and labels, and the sheet prints on one page. No add-in is needed.

A completion schematic for a vertical well that redraws itself. Enter the casing program (OD, top, shoe and top of cement for the conductor, surface casing, intermediate casing and production liner) and the completion (tubing, safety valve, gas-lift mandrels, packer, two perforated intervals, PBTD and TD) on the Inputs sheet; the Schematic sheet paints the wellbore against depth and labels each component. Move a packer, a shoe, a perforation or a liner top and the drawing and its labels move with it.

The economics of a small Texas horizontal program (5–10 wells), modelled month by month, with one scenario per row of an Excel Table. Each row carries its assumptions — prices, D&C, LOE, type-curve factor, well count, working and net revenue interest, discount rate — and, in the same row, its NPV, IRR, payout, PV/I, EUR per well and net cash. Change a row or add one at the bottom and its results fill in. The default assumptions are illustrative, not a price deck.
