# Surface Gathering Diagram — Generated from a Network Table, with Live Labels

## Description

A diagram of a surface gathering system, drawn from a table. Wells with wellhead pictures, chokes, a manifold,
production and test separators and the outlets they feed (gas to the compressor, oil export, water disposal) are
joined by flowline connectors glued to the shapes, so dragging a shape in Excel keeps its lines attached. The
Network sheet is the table the drawing was generated from — a row for every piece of equipment and every connector — so
the diagram cannot show a link the table does not hold.

The numbers stay live. The text in the manifold, the separators, the outlets and above each choke is linked to a
cell that calculates from the Inputs (wellhead pressure and temperature, oil, water and gas rates, choke size and
the route each well is lined up to, and the manifold and separator pressures); the details of each well are cells
beside its wellhead. Route a well to the other separator and the separators' and outlets' rates move with it. Every
formula is plain Excel, so the workbook needs no add-in.

The pipework is fixed in the file. A column per stage — wells, chokes, manifold, separators, outlets — and each shape
at the mean height of what feeds it lay the diagram out from the table, so a well, its choke and the next shape stay
on one straight line wherever they can. Add a well or a separator to the table and generate the workbook again: the
layout finds it a place. A workbook cannot redraw itself, so changing the table in the file does not move a flowline.

Input checks flag a set of inputs that cannot be a gathering system — a well routed to a separator that does not
exist, a wellhead pressure below the manifold, a manifold below a separator — in red with the fix spelled out. The
workbook does not calculate the network: the choke's pressure drop is the wellhead pressure less the manifold
pressure and the rates are those entered.

## Inputs

Named ranges you can edit — the labels recalculate from them. The wells, separators and routes come from the
Network table and are not inputs.

| Name | Description | Default | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| `GS_WHP`, `GS_WHT` | Wellhead pressure and temperature, per well | 1250/980/1510/760, 148/141/155/133 | psi, °F |
| `GS_Oil`, `GS_Water`, `GS_Gas` | Oil and water rates and gas rate, per well | W-1: 1850, 420, 2100 | bbl/d, Mscf/d |
| `GS_Choke` | Choke size, per well | 24, 28, 20, 32 | 1/64 in |
| `GS_Route` | Separator a well is lined up to: Production or Test | W-3 on Test, the others Production | — |
| `GS_Pman` | Manifold pressure | 420 | psi |
| `GS_SepP` | Separator pressure, per separator | 250 (production), 265 (test) | psi |

## Sheets

- `Guide`
- `Inputs`
- `Gathering`
- `Network`

The Gathering sheet carries four wellhead pictures, four chokes with their labels, a manifold, two separators, three
outlets and fourteen connectors glued to them, and no charts.

## Functions used

None — plain Excel formulas only.
